Home βΊ Retirement Date Estimator
How it works
The maths is deliberately simple: add the retirement age you selected to your date of birth. The result shows the calendar date you reach that age, the years, months and days remaining from today, and the calendar month in which that birthday falls β the month pension payments, where they apply, are normally tied to.
Worked example
Born 15 March 1966 and choosing 67 gives a retirement date of 15 March 2033, with payments normally tied to March 2033. Slide the age down to 60 and the same person could look at 2026 instead β which is exactly the kind of βwhat if I went earlier?β comparison this estimator is for.
Choosing an age sensibly
Official pension ages are set in law, differ by country and date of birth, and change over time; private and workplace pensions have their own rules and early-retirement reductions. Treat the figure here as a planning marker for your own spreadsheet, then confirm the official position through your pension provider or government's pension service.
Common questions
Is this my State Pension age?
No. It is simply the date you reach the age you picked on the slider. State Pension ages are set by law and must be checked on the official government service for your country.
I was born on 29 February β what happens?
In a non-leap year the estimate rolls to 1 March, the convention most systems use for a 29 February birthday in a year without that date.
